I don't subscribe to XM. Do we need to pay for this service to get updates?

 

Yes I believe so. Although sometimes I do get weather...even though I thought that was from XM as well. Google gives me all the traffic updates I need anyway.

 

Yes you believe we need to have a subscription?
I know my Nexus is the way to go.. but I am trying to get the most from the factory nav unit.

I had traffic on my 08 for a while but took it off. It was slow to update in my area (15-45 mins after the incident happened) and it was slow to clear. Once 4G was available in my area, the iPhone is more better. I still keep weather/traffic on my MDX because cell coverage is sometimes 2G/Edge or nothing in certain areas in the southwest for a long time between cities.
