Convert to Sirius and have integrated iPod control on screen?
I'm considering a 2005 RL or a 2007 RDX for my next DD, let's say for the sake of the forum I'm planning on getting an RDX...
I'd like to be able to convert the XM to SIRIUS and then have iPod controls with text on the factory nav screen, and have control over both the Sirius and ipod with the factory controls/steering wheel controls. I know I wouldn't be able to keep XM Nav-traffic with this because the Sirius would replace it, but I'd like to keep ALL OTHER functions of the factory radios. (I'd really love to keep the XM nav-traffic and xm radio and have sirius too, but I don't think thats possible).
Who makes the kits to do this properly?

Welp, I installed the Directed Electronics SiriusConnect HON-SC1/SCC1 on my TL around May, pre-merger. You do lose a bit more than XM NavTraffic when you bypass the tuner on the Tech package. (eg - I have lost the ability to direct dial POI telephone numbers from the nav screen, lost the individual driver presets.)
IMHO, I would not recommend this setup in the post-merger sat radio world. The music programming is now the same and you can pick up NFL/Howard with the alacarte/best of Sirius package on XM hardware without the added expense and complexity of converters. I have decided this is the way to go with our RDX.
As for the iPod integration, check out the iSimple PXMAG GateWay. It is widely considered the best solution at the moment for seamless integration with our stock HU's: steering wheel controls, full track information, pauses on HFL, charging and an addtional aux-in.

No problem there, Octane is now on XM channel 48. Check out the new merged channels -

Maybe I'll keep it. I'd rather have Nav-traffic instead of that one other channel.
Sounds like its just iPod (iPhone 3G actually) then.
Thanks man!

Have you installed this on your '09 RDX? I thought I read somewhere that if you install this, you lose XM or nav traffic or something.
Thank you
