Maybe a stupid question, but im a new owner of a RDX and wanted to know if the radio can be turned on/off by voice command? If so, how? Thanks in advance.

 

Check the manual for a list of voice commands. In short, after hitting the voice command button, you can say 'Audio On' or 'Audio Off' - or just 'Audio' to toggle.

I beleive in the navi help info screen it has a list of commands.

Audio on/audio off. It's a great feature but I can hit the radio power button faster than I can hit the speak button and speak this command!

 

You should also be able to turn on CD, XM, etc... when the radio is off by saying the correct command. Ex) "XM Channel 82"

 

This is what I realized when I was using the voice command to turn on the climate control, just messing around with the car! Some of the commands are kind of "the long way out" but being able to change XM channels, etc by voice is really cool, provided you know what channel number you want.

 

I always figured the voice commands are there for liability reasons. I think they would not let you use the navigation when the car was moving without them.

I haven't used them since about the first week I owned the car except to show someone that they exist.

 

Say, "Radio On, or Radio Off."
