Searched, and couldn't find any results, how does the navigation screen turn itself to nightmode when the headlights are on? Checked option in navigation menus and couldn't link anything to this.

This use to be automatic, and it just stays on daytime mode. I always have to push the button to turn it to night or day mode.

This should be a quick answer. Thanks

Not sure of the exact problem, but there are two options.

1) In the Settings, you select the color for night-time and day-time. The night-time colors you select turn on when you turn your headlights on. If they are both set to the day-time colors (beige), then they will not change.

2) The Display button turns the screen on and off and cycles between day/night/off. It's possible you have it on one or the other.

Hope this helps.

I've had this problem before. Your dashboard brightness is set to MAX brightness. Just push the (-) button one time, and it'll go back to switching between night mode and day mode automatically.

Got it! Thanks. I actually adjusted the dimmer on the instrument panel to lower the brightness, but the navigation screen didnt change, and i think my headlights were not on.

I knew this was human error, because it was never like that, until i played with the dimmer and forgot. Thanks

princelybug is correct. If you have your dash lights to the MAX briteness, it defaults to the daytime setting. This is to make you nav screen easier to read if you are driving in the day with your lights on (as you may do when it is raining).

If you push the nav brightness button on the console and manually switch it between night/day/off the auto dim feature becomes disabled until the car has been shut off and turned on again.

Princelybug thanks for the fix. I was banging my head going through all of the color settings and making sure it was set to auto on switching from day to night. Never would have fixed it without you post.
