Amp install affecting headlight output?
Amp install affecting headlight output?
After installing an amp yesterday, I noticed on my way into work that my headlights dont seem to be as bright as they were before. I cant think of what could cause this aside from a bad connection with the ground I utilized in the right D pillar where Acura grounds many things. But if you have a weak ground, then an amp will not work, as they are very picky when it comes to being grounded properly. This isnt a situation of they dim when the bass hits either. Even with the radio off they were still not as bright. The best way to describe this is that the fogs seem to outshine the HID's which was not the case before. I'm hoping someone might have some insight so I dont have to resort to ripping everything back apart.
Yeah that does sound bloody wierd
And you're sure its not just your eyes meaning they are considerably dimmer that before?!
I understand about the 'tearing back down' part but try goin to the ground and power install points, and with the lights on, disconnect and reconnect to see if it is really the amp causing the trouble.
Don't you just hate it when things like this happen

I thought about the fact that the lights could have seemed more dim to me because the ground was wet. I think ill just go down a really darm road tonight to see if it is really actually dull compared to normal. If they are then I guess ill take pics of the install at that point since ill have to tear everything apart.
