Add Tech Pkg to a non tech 2008 rdx turbo
Option 1
buy a stolen one in the black market and then find someone to install it, and then pray that you don't get caught....
Option 2
Sell your current one and add money to buy a tech package one
Option 3
Buy an after market navigation/sound system and install it in your car...I think this is the best option since the 08 tech and non only differ on the navigation and premium sound system IIRC.

Guys: You just answered my question. I like the idea of mounting to the rearview mirror; as my only gripe about std Garmin Nuvi's is that I had to stick it to my other windshield and had a black wire always hanging to keep it charged. It appears that I can buy one of these Garmins that is designed to connect to the car's power source via the rear view mirror. I don't worry much about theft because I live in a rural area; ie. not NYC, Chicago, Boston, etc.
Thanks for the tip!

check ebay (seriously). He has a great reputation for doing nice work in other TLs.
i understand your point.... however, with the deal I got on this vehicle and the shape it is in, if i can make a deal with a parts place for say $500-800 for the unit, components and the wiring harness..... i think that would be a better deal. i haven't fully looked into it yet, just previously in a civic si that i had

My recommendation was purely based on the fact that the tech and non-tech for that year only differ in the radio and navigation, and in my opinion it wasn't worth adding the OEM tech....if you want to do the work that's great, heck I'll even volunteer to help if it could.
There are custom fit ( DVD/GPS navigation) for all honda but i dont know if accord or crv will fit on acura rdx this is the link

1) With Tech pack you have two displays (under windshield and on the panel) and with non-Tech you have only one (centre of panel). That means that you have to change whole front panel to make it work. And that would be really complicated and expensive.
2) You will still need to reprogram your head unit and your gauge cluster (cause you have different menus in the cluster for Tech and non-Tech versions) for this new hardware. And that is the most complicated part.
Forget about it.
this is the I Phone compatible solution. it will also work with android but is more suited for apple integration.
