2012 RDX USB Folder and File Names

Hi,
I just bought a new 2012 RDX (no Tech package) and I really like the idea of simply storing and playing all my music from a USB thumb drive that I just leave in the car.
I hooked one up yesterday and it worked great, but the display didn't display the folder or file names. It would just say, "Folder 01" and "Track 01" (or something like that). Made it pretty hard to navigate the music.
Is there a way to get the display on the RDX without the tech package to display the folder and file names for the music files? Is there a special way to create the folders or name them?
Thanks

2021 RDX A SPEC
i think you ripped the audio off a CD and converted it to MP3..but perhaps you forgot to rename the tracks to the appropriate song/artist?
When MS media player rips tracks off a CD, in most cases, it does NOT label the ripped mp3 to the proper name/title.

The files actually came from different sources. Some were ripped from a CD using Windows Media Player and if you look at them on the computer, they do have the track details in their data. Some were bought from Amazon and also have their details on them.
What I have noticed though is many of them are named "01 <Song Name>.mp3" Would that make a difference?
My flash drive has the following folder structure:
<Band Name>\<Album Name 1>\<Track Name>.mp3
Would the top level band name folder cause this? Just trying to understand how it works because the owners manual doesn't say much about this.
Thanks for your help!

I haven't tried it on the RDX yet but on my M3 I use playlist created using windows media player when using a thumb drive. Folders only showed up as generic, as you , and thats why i started creating play lists!
Hope that helps
