2010 Accura RDX "Home Link" for garage door opener

Hi all,
This is my first post so please bear with me. I am trying to program my "Home Link" for my garage door opener. I have an Allister 3500 door opener. I can not seem to find the "learn" button to press to program the car with my hand held remote. How do I do this if there is not a "learn" button on the opener.

Thanks in advance

I'm not familiar with that door opener but to access the learn button on my Liftmaster you have to remove the lamp cover. Maybe yours is similar?

Have you checked out the Homelink web site:

http://www.homelink.com/program

If your garage door opener does not have a learn button, you have to use the held remote to program the RDX home link button. Just put in the model of you garage door opener and vehicle to see a programming video on the website. It did not work the 1st time; but it did after a while. I used this to program both doors of my 3 car garage and program the 3rd button at my mom's house.

The only downside to home link is the button is ALWAYS on. If you park outside, someone could break your window and press your home link to open your garage door. Because of this, I disable the garage door when I need to park outside overnight (I have a button on the wall mounted opener).

The Allister Type IIA opener does not use a "learn" button to program the remotes as most openers
Read more: Reprogramming Instructions for an Allister Type IIA | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/how_8464643_repr...#ixzz1lZLclox4

IF this applies to your opener, you just skip the learn button part of the homelink programing and use your remote to program the homelink.
