07 nav crashing, rebooting

My 07 tech nav is spontaneously rebooting, locking up.... misbehaving.
First.. is there any way to reboot the system short of turning off the engine? Kind of hard while driving...

second, anyone have similar problems? I plan to bring to acura service, but since it happens only once or twice a trip, kind of hard to demonstrate.

thanks..

Just got back from a trip where my 07 Navi began rebooting and freezing up. First started happening around the two hour mark but is becoming more frequent.
Have you had a resolution to your Navi problem. I suspect the DVD reader. I don't want Acura to rip out the whole navi and give me a refurbed one if the one I've got is good but with a bad DVD reader.

I had DVD ERROR on my screen. After cleaning DVD disk no problem so far.
Notice some minor scratch on the DVD.

update: took my RDX to the dealer. Since my Navi takes almost 2 hours before it tends to freeze up they could not replicate the problem. (The problem may in fact be related to distance travelled.) They need to have it freeze before they can do any warranty process so they advised the next time it freezes up on me to drive it in so they can troubleshoot it.

My NAV would randomly freeze after one or more hours and I got the same b.s. response from the dealer. I interpreted this response as meaning that the dealer lacked adequate methods to diagonose the problem. Basically I felt the dealer was calling me a liar. Anyway, as I understand the warranty, whether there is a defect doesn't depend on the dealer agreeing that there is one. I called Acura customer service, but they said they couldn't do anything. I was about to start an arbitration against the dealer, when my NAV froze up while driving locally on a Friday at 5:30. I rushed over to the dealer and dragged out a rep who witnessed the situation. He didn't even try any further troubleshooting. They then agreed to replace the unit but the first replacement unit failed. I am supposed to pick up my car with the 2nd replacement unit tomorrow.
