Zaktek

Premium protection coating... It came with my RDX along with several scheduled re-applications at the dealer.

I have never heard of it. Has anyone else? Good or bad? Do it or skip it?

Thanks

Sounds like snake oil revenue maker for the dealer...

All those "services" just fall on a deaf ear with me.

All of my cars get the same Zaino OCD treatment from me in my driveway.

Well I don't think it is much of a revenue maker if it comes free.

NOTHING is free!! You pd. for it in a round about way. See the wash & polish area in the forums area, look at pics. I'll put ZAINO up against almost all dealer add on stuff. Cost less & looks AWESOME!

Hmmm... Yes, I bought the RDX. My point was that the RDX at my dealer was the same price with or without this treatment. I have used Zaino on my last two Lexus and I do love it. That is not what I am asking. I just wanted to know if anyone had heard of it...etc. If this post should be moved, that is fine.

OK, I checked... Nothing.

If anyone has heard about it, I have more free applications that they are reminding me to take. Costs me nothing and I get a loaner car....but if the stuff is crap, I obviously don't want it re-applied. The dealer puts it on for free as a service for some reason. Maybe it is just out here in the desert
?

No, I haven't heard of that exact name product, but it's prob. a version of a teflon coating. That's why I mentioned Zaino instead, but it sounds like you are aware of the qualities of Zaino! If you plan on using Z., that product is just one more thing to "strip" off b4 putting on your Zaino!!

I googled it and came up with only a few hits. One hit was a letter from a Honda customer who unknowingly paid for this Zaktek application during his purchase of a Honda vehicle and was not pleased.

If you Zaino your vehicles, you know the start of the process is to remove all previous waxes and get your vehicle down to paint by washing with Dawn or a similar liquid soap. Thus, it's just more "stuff" to remove from your car in order to start the Zaino process.

If it were me, I would just pass on the free Zaktek.

My apologies for thinking you paid for these "add-ons".
