Exclamation Winter Storm Warning!

For those of you that live in the tri-state area (CT, NY, NJ) it looks like we're in for some serious white stuff!! I've been patiently waiting for a good snow fall to play with the RDX but this storm is actually getting me a little nervous. My '08 RDX is still running the OEM tires which we all know are marginal at best in anything other than dry pavement. They still have decent tread. I guess I'll found out tomorrow how well my RDX snow sled does!

From what I have experienced, the RDX does okay in snow. I just passed 10,000 miles this weekend, so I still have quite a bit of tread left on my tires. What you will need to worry about is ice. I was on an icy incline and the VSA lit up my dash. I eventually regained traction and was on my way.

They lie about the snow...Cleveland 6-12 inches foretasted...

We will be lucky to see 4-5 inches out of this storm.

RDX good in the snow...would be amazing with a decent set of treads.

Even with 7000miles my OEMs suck...Thank god for SH-AWD !

The OEM's I have do a fine job in snow...I'm in Boston so normally get plenty of it. Of course specific snow tires are always great but OEM's are just fine in the snow as long as you drive safe.

Also bear in mind that AWD only helps when your foot is on the gas. It doesn't help when you're braking or turning.

I just got home after tooling around in the snow (boss closed the office early!) I drove around on a bunch of unplowed back roads and the RDX didn't miss a beat! It handled everything I threw at it remarkably well. I was even impressed with it's stopping power. I was going down a rather steep curve, fully snow covered. I put the RDX in "Sport Mode" and dropped it down to 1st gear and just let the engine/tranny do the breaking and barely had to use the breaks.

This is the most snow I've driven in since I got my RDX June 2008. I am offically very impressed with the SH-AWD setup.

Before I had my RDX I would have feared driving in today's weather. Now with the RDX, bring it on!

New 2010 owner here. I'm in the DC area where we just broke the all-time record for snowfall this season (55" total). Lovin, lovin, lovin having the SH-AWD RDX!! And to think, the dealer actually tried to convince me to get a 2WD model. I almost feel bad ... my RDX has less than 1000 miles on it and this will probably be the toughest workout it ever gets in its lifetime ...

Looks like New England might be in for one more heavy snow storm coming this Thursday into Friday! YES!!!!!!!! After all, the groundhog did see his shadow on February 2nd hence six more weeks of winter! Mother Nature is making up for lost time this winter season. I hope it comes true for one last frolic in the snow in my RDX!! The chance for winter weather is running out...
