What's draining my battery?
Hello, So I have a 2007 RDX Tech model with around 165K miles on it. I recently purchased an E-Scooter that I have been commuting to work on so I have not been driving the RDX much. I went to go to the grocery store after not driving the RDX for 4 days and it was totally dead (green flashing key on dashboard). Had to get a neighbor to give me a jump. Battery is only a few months old. Now I've been starting it every other day, but even then I can see that the battery is quite drained. I can't see that anything is on, no lights or anything. Any idea what could be draining the battery so fast?

This is my experience with parasitic draw and diagnosis on my 2010 in another post I’ve made.

Thanks for the quick response. I went out and unplugged the bluetooth module as that looks to be a very common parasitic draw with a lot of Acura's. I will see if that helps with the battery drain and starting issues.

So, unplugging the Bluetooth module did not solve the issue unfortunately. I took it to a shop so that they could track down the issue and they are saying that the draw is coming from the XFM radio unit. They do not want to unplug it because they don't know what all it will affect if they do. They are telling me to take it to a dealership. I honestly rarely even use the radio when I drive it, but I do use the navigation system. Can anyone tell me what would be affected by unplugging it?

I don’t have a tech model but I believe the nav screen and radio units are separate as shown in the diagram. Unplugging the radio unit should only disable the radio and possible the upper display.
Not sure if “Acuralink control unit” is your faulty module but. If I were you, I’d unplug the known problem area and see what happen and judge whether or not you can live with whatever isn’t functioning.

Thanks for this. I admit, I'm far from mechanically gifted. I was able to unplug the Bluetooth module because I followed a YouTube video, lol. So if I want to unplug the Acuralink Control Unit to see if that helps would I have to take the dash apart to get to it?

When I went to pick the car up the tech that worked on it told me that the XM module is located behind the glove box kind of against the outside firewall. Hopefully he knows his stuff because I came home and unplugged that module and now I'm pretty much waiting to see if it helps. (fingers crossed)

I have the same issue with my 2009 Acura RDX--the man at the auto parts store was telling me to clean the green patina off it--but have had this issue for over 6 months.
