Battery
Battery
I have to give Acura full marks as I still have the original battery in my 2017 RDX. Production date 02/2017, so that makes it just over 6 years old.
Actually, in my books, a 6 year old battery is a NEW battery since I have had factory fitted Panasonic batteries in our Toyota and Honda vehicles last 16 and 14 years respectively. I am assuming the factory fitted battery in my RDX is a "conventional battery" and not an AGM, the fact that the charge voltage has never gone above 14.4V as per my cigarette lighter plug-in voltmeter. AGM batteries need a higher charge voltage.
Now comes the best part. At 6 years old, my RDX was parked in storage for exactly 3 months. The battery was not disconnected and there was no plug-in for a battery maintainer. I even have a BM-2 battery monitor (totally useless) connected across it likely drawing a couple of mA. Now the RDX and CANBUS systems might shut systems down to keep current drain down, but after 3 full months of sitting there parked, it started right up as if it had run the day before. I was surprised and expected I would need a boost.

I changed my battery in the fall at the 5-1/2 mark. No reason except I didn't want to get stuck in the winter. Who knew we would have one of the mildest winters on record. Plus I connected a rodent repellent to the battery so my local rodents wouldn't nest under my hood this winter. They can do damage to the insulation.....
