What turbo sound!?

I may be old, but not quite deaf yet. I have not been able to hear any sound of the turbo spooling up and making a pleasant sound as has been reported. I just hear the I-4 straining to get the RDX going. Yes, the boost gauge is working and I feel the power, but no extra sound. What am I missing? Also, do you let the turbo cool down like it was suggested in older turbo applications before turning the engine off to prevent coking? Can't find anything in the manual.

Does anyone have an answer regarding letting the turbo cool down before shutting the car off?

no need too, the car has a system that heat from the engine will heat oil, cause it to circulate up, cool off and go back down, thus circulating after engine shut off. there is no reason to use a turbo timer or leave car on for a bit

I hear the turbo spool when I am slightly pressing on the gas pedal. At wot I hear the engine much more than anything else.

Same here. I can easily hear the "hiss" or "woosh" or whatever you want to call it under moderate acceleration. WOT it's more the engine and i-VTEC. If you can't hear the turbo spool trying driving with your windows down, stereo off, and HVAC off or low. If you still can't hear it I agree with a set of hearing aids! LOL

+1 ;p but keep in mind though.. the noise of spooling is meant to be kept at a minimum.. it's something you notice or have to specifically listen for
