What day was my rig built?

I cant find a tag that shows what day my RDX was built. On the top most tag inside the driver door, it shows month/year but not the day. Can anyone tell me where to look?

And while Im at it, anyone know how to decode the vin?

Thx

don't think you can find the exact date. only month and year. as for decoding the VIN, do a search on the main acurazine site and you should be able to find it. i recall seeing it a while back.

They don't even tell the dealers the exact date, they give us a 4 day range.

My original thought was for the old addage "dont buy a car made on a monday or friday".

As I got to thinking about it, what does the word 'built' really mean, anyway? The engine is assembled in Japan, right? Not sure where the tranny is built - Marysville? Seats, other assemblies, etc. are assembled to the frame that is shipped in and the body must take more than a day or three in the paint shop.

I live near a recently closed F150 plant and I would have loved to have a tour of that place but I could never find a hookup for it before Ford shut them down and sent the jobs to Mexico. But I did see the frames stacked like firewood and one day a semi full of rear axles overturned on the offramp and spilled them all over. that was ugly! And I would never own a F150 built in late 06/early 07 at the Norfolk plant. Those were some pissed off people at the bitter end.

So I can understand there is no one day the car was built. But a "born on date" would be interesting.

Here's one VIN Decoder. Not much detail though. Regardeless, the VIN doesn't have the build date coded into it.

Build day? Good luck.
