Underbody rattle

My family has 2 RDX... one is mine and one my family drives.

Some issue with rattling under the car came up on their vehicle and looks like some kinda silver heat shield (under car, middle of the underside, between front seats and above the transmission drive) has fallen down and is snugged up against the transmission drive. Dunno how that came loose or whether it is a heat shield but it is a flatish, light silver fish-like metal thing that is making the noise. On my RDX the silver metal thing is high up in the underbody and WAY above the transmission drive.

Anybody know what it is or anyone have a problem with this? Someone in Ohio plant fell asleep again?

Thanks

not sure what the problem is, just take it back to the dealer and fix it.

All heat shields are make of flimsy lightweight material. If it was heavy and substantial, it would trap and hold heat and be counter productive.

I remember back in the Integra days, the heatshield would sometmes touch he muffler causing this kind of rattle. The fix was a crowbar and a push! I've never seen it come detached and fall, but I'm sure it's happened.

Yeah seems like some heat shield came loose over the center transmission line... repaired under warranty of course.
