Turbo questions...
I recently purchased a 2007 TSX with Navi back in January. I love the car. However, it's at the point where the wife is going to need a new car. She really likes the RDX, and I've been researching them online. I'm thinking that we may get one, but I wanted to ask you guys a few questions about it. First of all, can you hear the turbo spool up on it? Also, when you hit boost, is it really noticeable? When you guys arrive at your destination, do you let the turbo cool down before you shut the car off? Lastly, when you're on boost and you hit VTECH what does it feel like? Well, we are going to go test drive one this week, but I wanted to see all of your thoughts on this.
You can definitely hear the turbo spool up. In a good way. When you hit full boost it is noticeable. You do not need to let the engine run to cool down when arriving at any destination. Its hard to notice when you hit the VTECH window because of the turbo boost, but it is noticeable if you are looking for it and it will make you sink into your seat.
Also worth mentioning is the SH-AWD feel. Be sure to test that out in your test drive. If you are coming from TSX, you may have never experienced this feeling. Around a sweeping curve, mash the gas and feel the outside rear wheel push you through the turn. It takes a little getting used to, but certainly adds a level of confidence when cornering.
