Looking at trading in my 04 TSX for an Certified 08 RDX with Technology package. I've just started looking and it appears that none of the local Acura dealers have any RDX's in stock.
The price they are asking for it is $24,991. I've compared prices online on autotrader(with unlimited distance when searching) and the price they are asking seems to be exactly what everyone else is asking and in some cases the price appears to be better than most prices I've compared to on autotrader.
I've just looked at it and took a short test drive once. the only thing I noticed right away was, the previous owner must have had a baby seat in the rear cause the leather has an imprint and the rear inside driver side door handle appears to have paint chips/scratches (prob. due to removing and installing baby seat?)

Also the color just happens to be exactly what I wanted black on black.

What do you guys think about their asking price, think I can get it any lower?

 

Need a little more info: How many miles on the 08 RDX? Is it accident free?

You stated none of the local Acura dealers have any RDX's in stock. Who is "they" you are referring to?

Does your TSX have nav? How many miles? How much are "they" offering for your TSX?

 

The RDX has about 48k miles on it and carfax shows it as 1 owner accident free.

"They" is refering to the Acura dealership that has the one RDX that I'm looking at for $24,991. (I'm looking at used 07-09 only).
There aren't many used RDX's at any of the local Acura dealerships and non Acura dealerships here in the Twin Cities.

My TSX is accident free, 6spd, non navi with 74k miles on it. I bought it at about 40k miles and have only put about 30k miles on it in the 4 years that i've owned it. (I work about 10mins away from home).

I haven't mention anything about wanting to trade my TSX in towards the RDX to the dealership yet so I don't know how much they'll give me. KBB says roughly $11k in great condition $10k+ in good condition, my tsx falls within good and great.

 

realistically, the dealer will prob offer you around 8k for your TSX. not sure if you are keen on waiting, the 2013 is on its way, which could significantly drop the price of the 1st gen RDX, especially those years prior to the mid model change.

From what many posters have reported here, used RDXs have retained their value well, its surprising in fact how high RDX used stickers are, especially for first year (07s). That said, dunno how you will make out, surely the "sticker" is not their best price, so yes of course you can do better. good luck & make sure you get the RDX checked out by an independent mechanic with no incentive to sell you on it.

 

As I was looking online again tonight, I noticed a new RDX with Tech package just became available from the Acura Dealership that I bought my TSX from. It has about 20k miles less than the one that I mentioned in my original post and the price is only about $1k more. (27,279 Miles and the asking price for this one is $25,988).

Funny thing is the price of the RDX that I originally posted about has gone down from $24,991 to $24,752.

I don't know if I can hold out until the 2013's come out because I do want a different car. But if holding off until they release the 2013's mean's I'll get a better deal I just may do so.
