Trunk creak/tapping/rattle
Trunk creak/tapping/rattle
I have a 2010 RDX and I have this very annoying creak/rattle in the back. I'm aware of the rear seat hooks causing a similar sound but this is not the case. I get the sound when both rear seats are folded down.
I thought it may have been the trunk hinges but I've thoroughly greased them and I still hear the noise.
It sounds like I may be coming from the rear window but I can't replicate the sound. When I open and close the trunk I think I hear the same sound. I think it may be coming from the rear spoiler but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyone have a similar issue? Any instructions on how to remove the rear spoiler? I want to remove it and go for a drive to see if I still hear that sound.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I know how we've all had this battle with creak/rattles all over the car!

I had a similar sound coming from the parcel shelf. One of the plastic hooks near the back seat was broken and the shelf was bouncing a little. I ordered new hooks; but, I used black electrical tape on the metal part to pad it and it has worked so far. I will replace the hook when the tape stops working.

Thanks for the suggestion though!
it may bet the little pin/tab that the deck lid string hooks on to.
I've had one side "break", and the other side is somewhat loose. It seems the screw holding it in from the backside can get loose.

So it turned out to be the hinges on the trunk door. I removed them and applied liberal amounts of grease and screwed them back in making sure it was nice and tight. 3 days in and no more sound...hope it doesn't return.
