Trip computer accuracy...

Hey guys just curious if everyone thinks the mpg on the trip computer is accurate. I have had my RDX about 2 weeks and am consistently at 21-22 mpg on the computer regardless on or off highway.

To be fair I haven't calculated myself against the computer and if anyone has I am wondering how it did against the trip computer.

Thanks,

Marc

Mine seems to be right in there. A good way to check (if you save your gas receipts as I do) is to do the math and see if the mpg's equal the gas you are putting in every year. Now that the RDX is just a commuter car for us, it's an easy calculation.

Our RDX '11 is quite good. The calculation is overstated by 1/2 MPG compared to actual MPG. It's consistent however on each fill up, so no problem.

Much more accurate than my TSX '09. It's off (overstate) by 2.5 to 3 compared to actual.

If it's brand new, you may want to wait till your 2nd or 3rd fillup for more accurate readings.

the more fillups you do the more accurate it gets. if im not mistaken it calibrates itself by fueling.

The trip computer is so accurate NASA drove the RDX to the moon in a super top secret mission no one knows about.. Just to see if the laser ranging was calibrated correctly.

Hard owned tax payer money, I know, I would have thought they'd take a bicycle w/ cyclo-computer and strap E.T. on it to save on fuel costs.

My 2008 was fine now it stays at avg 21 and 15mpg I think the computer system may have a problem or the cluster because the trip B erased the mileage was the same as trip A without my touching. I also have serious mile adding to my car so in two months my odometer may say I drove 3000 miles when I barely drive 20 average per day. The car is a very fun car to drive for sure, but the quirks are a bit tiring.
