Is the starter on car undersized?
Might be a little premature, but I noticed that when starting the car their is not much power behind the starter motor. I am concerned that in the winter time this might be an issue. Live in Dutchess County, NY which can have its share of 30 degree days. Anyone else notice this issue?
Not quite sure yet...seems fine to me. Up here in Calgary we have our fair share of -30 (I'm assuming you're talking about farenheit) weather so I'm interested to see how it holds up at that point and if turbo whine on startup is excessive.

I agree with neeteez..mine sounds "weak" for a starter., even in warm weather. For a new vehicle, it shouldn't be the temperature. We'll see here soon. There is a blizzard predicted for tomorrow.
Also want to see how the X does in snow!

Yeah, but your truck is different, its not that the starter on it is too weak, but the fact the the you have to pressurized the lines, and the engine turns over and over just fine. Nothing like what they are saying about there starters on the RDX. But it could be something one of you guys should try.

In really cold weather, it does take 1 second or so longer to crank, but it has never not started in 3.5 years. I live in Chicago which gets really cold too. I find that if you turn the key to the position right before cranking, it powers up all the electricals and pumps first... then crank it. It won't hesitate at all.
