Sport Mode Not working..please help
Hello- I have a 2008 RDX with 125K.
I noticed today that when I shift to S , sport mode does not function......the "S" light on the instrument pane doesn't come on, paddle shifters don't do anything and the 1,2,3,4,5's gear indicators don't show in the small panel beside the shift letter. When I am in S it basically is like I am in Drive "D"
Note that the paddle shifters work fine in Drive mode....they manually shift up and down fine...Its just S mode is not working.
I changed the transmission fluid about 18 months (18,000 miles) ago.
I tried Googling and searching the forum but didn't see anything similar.
Car is very driveable as I don't really use S mode a lot... its just strange and would like to fix it
Anyone heard of anything like this or have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Check your fuses, one fuse box under the drivers dash as well as two on the drivers side under the hood.
Then have your dealer check the transmission pressure switches. I had to change several of them over the years.
Also you may have a short in your shifter harness.
Another thing that might be wrong is the brake shift interlock.
Check your battery and your transmission fluid temperature.
Check the computer and brake pressure sensor.
Always, start with the cheapest solution ending with the most expensive solution.

Hey Thanks Kevin- I understand there are at least 3 sensors (i think they are by gear and they are in different locations)..do you know which one you replaced and what the part number was? Thanks!

if I remember correctly the code was p1717. That was the transmission safety neutral switch. I have to look up the part number. But it was the one right next to the driver side wheel. Literally remove the wheel and the splash guard and the switch was right there.
