Speedometer
Has anyone felt like the speedometer on the RDX isnt showing real speed? i have a 09 RDX tech with just below 1200km and noticed that 60km/h feels more like just running 40 and even when running at 70-80km/h feels more just like 55-60. My comparison was with my old Ford Escape with the V6, when you rev it up you sure would feel 60 and beyond that...
anyone who had the same experience?

My guess is just that feeling the refinement of an Acura over a Ford. I have generally found that the more expensive and luxurious the car, the less I "feel" the actual speed I'm driving. Try taking a Lexus LS600hL for a test drive sometime--I was over 100 on the highway before the salesman coughed and mentioned I probably didn't want to get a ticket. It felt like I was cruising around town at 30...

yeah i guess so... but before i bought the RDX, we road tested the X3 and the RX350 and it didnt seemed that way.. my thinking was because of the V6 engine on both compared to the 2.3T on the RDX...
They use those Radar signs in my area quite a bit that display your speed as you pass.
My Speedo (07 RDX, 43K miles ) is spot on with those signs at 25, 45 and 65 MPH. My wife Honda 07 CRV seems to be right at 45, and my sons 05 Focus is several mph higher on the 45 sign.
Just my experience.

Honda has admitted that their speedometers are probably 5% off, so the extended warranty mileage. That said, the RDX has too much road noise to be in the "I didn't know I was going that fast officer" category. For a $36K vehicle road noise should not be a problem, especially in a Honda/Acura, but it is. That seems to be the biggest complaint among Honda/Acura vehicles. I know it bugs me unless I crank up the ELS, but then I can't carry on a conversation. That is why I am leaning to the very quiet '10 MDX now instead of the '10 RDX.
