My coil packs on my 08 RDX lasted until about 150,000 miles and were changed out back in 2017 for around $840 at the dealership. I would wait until they go bad.

If you are doing it yourself Duralast Coils are $262 for 4 at Autozone (lifetime warranty) and since you already have everything apart, it makes sense.

Like changing your oil after 500 miles because it's been in your crankcase for a year?

Why would you spend money on inferior Duralast coils when you can get OE quality ones for 50 a pop? I'm all for preventative maintenance as well, but replacing coils unnecessarily is not something I would suggest replacing them with quality components, lifetime warranty be damned..

How is that a valid comparison? OIl becomes acidic over time, where as coils do what exactly?

I'm an idiot. If I need to take the intercooler off to change the plugs and need to remove the coils, I'll replace them. The reason the Duralast is lifetime warranty. It sucks so hard to change the plugs and have a coil go bad a month later.
Synthetic oil doesn't break down like the old Dino stuff. My oil guy said it can go 2 years with no issues, providing I run it long enough to boil out the moisture.

I have 183k miles and have had one single coil go bad. They are not something that should fail on a predictive timeline - some will die in 50k, most will outlast the car. I personally would not change them out unless they fail.

A failed coil can be anything from just a misfire code to a flashing CEL and a stumbling idle (plus a misfire code). I had one completely fail on me and the car was effectively running on 3 cylinders - no warning signs. More often than not, when they go, they just go.

Sadly, it's the same symptoms and codes a bad plug gives.
