Should I trade RDX for MDX?

Should I trade my base model 07 RDX for base model 08 Mdx and I just have to pay $100 more a month? This is not a lease. What do you guys think?

That is your decision to make. What reasons do you have for trading such a new vehicle? You'll lose a lot of money, so if it's not absolutely necessary, then I say don't do it.

yeah, more information would be nice. First, why are you thinking about doing it?

MDX has more space, drives more like a truck, worse gas mileage.

RDX is smaller inside, more car-like in how it drives, and slightly better gas mileage.

I think the MDX looks better than the RDX and I'd prefer a V6 over a turbo 4, but otherwise, I like the interior layout and performance of the RDX over the MDX and if you don't need the size, why bother?

I am looking for more size and their is not really a big difference in the gas mileage. Finally, all I am really asking is it worth an extra $100 a month to go from a RDX to MDX?

How am I going to lose money, if the dealer pays my car off in my trade in and nothing rolls over on the new car?

we'd really need to know more about the financials of the deal to give you any advice.

It really depends on your own situation. you mention you are looking for more size, so if the additional size is worth the $100/month, then sure go for it. the MDX is a nice vehicle. Yes it does ride more like a truck and it is heavy and will feel a bit sluggish compared to the RDX, but if you need more space then you don't have much choice. I have an RDX and my dad has a new 08 MDX which I drive very frequently. I like both vehicles, but they drive very different. And you are correct in that the mileage is similar, at least in my experience.

That's a question nobody can answer for you. For me, the answer would be No, because I do not want a large SUV. You pretty much need to figure this out on your own.

That is what I am debating about. Is a $100 more a month for more room, better looks, and not losing gas mileage?

Do U have a big family to store??
then get a MDX.
if you want the MDX just for SH*TZ n GIGGLES and u g0t money to throw like that..sure why not?

do what makes u happy, just be aware of your decisions and consequences,
weigh out the pro's n con's for yourself..make a list.

we can't make a decision for you.
we can only suggest based upon your preference @ hand and situation(s) your in.

-Best of luck.

It's called depreciation.

I know about that and you lose money once u leave the lot. However, I am getting 4.9 for 60 month on the Mdx, while I was at 5.9% for Rdx and it only been a 12 months.

You're still losing a good chunk of money by getting rid of a brand new car so quickly. Instead of paying $X for only 4 more years, now you're paying $X+$100 for 5 more years.

That is the only con I really have and that why I was going to trade it in now instead of later.

I have both and I would pick another RDX first.

If you need 7 seats, pick the MDX. Otherwise, the RDX eats it for lunch.

Yup! Saturn Outlook XR, loaded, kicks the MDX' ass. Don't get the Outlook XE.

We have both at home too. MDX for luxury and size. RDX for daily driving. Gas mileage is only a little bit worse for the MDX...wouldn't be a deal breaker for me though.
