Unhappy scratches on interior tailgate cover

Has anyone else noticed that the interior of the tailgate cover scratches quite easily?
I have the black interior, and the scrapes and scratches are very obvious and ugly with the tailgate is open. The surface seems to be the same matte soft plastic that covers the rest of the car. I don't use my RDX for any heavy lifting, just a few trips to the airport with luggage and regular use. Seems like the designers didn't realize that this interior portion of the car would get abused more than other areas.

I love my RDX, and this is my only peeve to date. Any suggestions on how to fix the scratches?

Thanks!

I can agree with you on this one, I was doing a floor and had a floor sander in the back, went over a bump and it shift and scratch the back. If anyone had an Idea it would be appreciated.

I have noticed the same problem, but I don't think there is any solution that will make it look like new, but there are some products that will hide the scratches. The black plastic does show scratches easily, just like the black floor covering shows every bit of dirt, grass, etc. Gray plastic would have been better.

For $60 you can replace most all the plastic back there below the glass. Most all of the plastic is pretty cheap to replace.

I noticed that as well. The only way around it would be to use some carpeting/lining on the back, similar to what is on the sides.

I had the same problem lugging some beach stuff. I purchased the cargo liner and it fits like a glove. It takes a few minutes to put in on and take it off but for less than $150 it is worth it.
