Removing door panels.

Can someone please post how to remove the front door panels. Had the front windows tinted a while ago and both door panels seem to have some gaps between the door and panel so thought I would take off and reattach them. I need to order the service manual tomorrow. Pics if posible. Thank You

why did they take your door panels off just to tint the windows?

I'll check the service manual for instructions, but it will have to wait till I get to work to PDF them. My scanner isn't hooked up at home right now. Should be pretty easy thought. Pull the bottom clips out, probably one or two screws around the door handle. and lift the panel off and disconnect the wire harness. Pretty standard Honda door... At least these days you don't have to deal with getting the window crank handle off.....

Cool thankyou Sasair. I dont know why they removed them but they did. I am going to try now. Do you think they could have misallighned the clips? Are the clips reuseable?

the clips are reusable as long as they didn't break them. Have you tried pushing the door panels on, maybe they just didn't engage all the clips. they may also not be lined up right so they may be bent. Are your power door locks and windows and light working? could be a harness they didn't reconnect?

I suppose it might be slightly easier to do the actual tinting, but seems like too much that could go wrong with the door for a tint shop to do that. Could be that they take them off so they can wipe up the adhesive that they squeegy out the bottom of the tint rahter than have it drain into your door.....

Thanks Chyllin and Sasair. Had to order new gray colored clips today as 3 of them were stuck in the door and not in the panel itself if you can picture that. They got ruined when I removed them. The panel looks fine as I can tell the tint shop did not put all the clips in right thoug. They also stripped a couple of plastic grommets that the screws go into so I ordered those too. Oh well at least I will have peace of mind that everything is putback together right.

Boy I tell you, it never ceases to amaze me how bad interior bits get messed up when people work on a car. Hard to believe. They must beat at it with monkey wrenches or something....

You're in fairfax, so who did your tint? I'll be sure not to go there. Hope the clips and stuff didn't cost too much or I'd be at the tint shop making them pay for it. I've had good luck with Tommy's Tinting in fairfax, and they are mobile, so they come to you and tint it. I used LA Tint in manassas to do the RDX and they were pretty good. Also used Tint Worx in Warrenton and they were the best, but they were in warrenton...

They are clueless and fearless which is a horrible combination. It's by no means rocket science. Most cars these days are all put together the same way I don't know how they can be so bad if they do it everyday. Once you find a good installer, they are worth their weight in gold.

Yea, they are great tinters but I guess they were in a hurry putting it back togeather or something. I was going to bring it to the dealer to have them reinstall the door panels but I ordered the parts from delray acura today and feel more confident doing it in my garage and taking my time.
