Exclamation RDX Caught Testing in China

The Chinese luxury car market has become a battle ground of immense proportions for luxury cars, in 2011 it was the only segment of the market that saw considerable growth although that might change in 2012 if the Chinese economy slows. Acura have been in the Chinese market for a number of years, but the brand has never been able to compete with Western luxury names such as BMW, Audi, or Mercedes, or even Jaguar-Land Rover.

Acura has seen some success with the launch of the MDX in the Chinese market, but other SUV models have been slow in arriving to the PRC, however it looks like the latest generation of RDX is likely to be launched in China very soon as it has been spotted testing in China ahead of its Detroit Auto Show launch in January later this year.

The introduction of the RDX at the bottom of the Acura totem pole will give the Acura brand a wider audience, the RDX is likely to be targeted at other compact luxury SUV’s such as the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and also the Mercedes GLK, pricing is expected to be around 400,000 – 500,000rmb when launched.

You know what that must mean - more parts for us USA to get. Can't find any parts for this
CUV until Asia gets their hands on it. =)

Like I've said before, I smell a heavier RDX. The larger C pillar is a dead giveaway and a needed improvement, but that means it will not fit in my side of the garage.
I'll keep my '07.

it looks like a mini mdx now! which is a good thing but then again the mdx is due for a redesign too and its getting boring. i doubt it will break 4000lbs though. will find out soon anyway.

i dont think Acura has it in them to make an attractive rim. Orange corner lamps need to go, too. Other than that, still much to be seen. So much for the front door storage sills - at least it looks like it may fit a bottle of water standing up now, though.

Bummer. One of the things I like about my 07 is the dash layout. I LOVE the upper display near the windshield. It allows me to see what's playing, temp and time without taking my eyes off the road. Looks like it's history. I think I'll keep my 07 too.

At least there is a hood over over the GPS display...don't like the way the current screen gets washed out in daylight.

from the low quality interior shot, it looks like, at least, that all the garbage shiny plastic, fake carbon weave and silver crap has been removed.

good sign
