RDX in Canada

Hey guys,

I've been looking at the RDX recently and just want to hear some opinions on RDX's ride comfort. I live in toronto, and i gotta say, roads here arent the best . So will the RDX be comfortable on toronto roads?

I drove it extensively on different road surfaces, and while the ride is firm, I wouldn't charactarize it as uncomfortable, or rough. The extra firmness in the tires and suspension is well worth it for the handling capabilities, imo.

If you want a luxo-soft ride, though, I don't think this is the car for you.

I live in the Greater Toronto Area and I've never owned nor driven an SUV/CUV before.

I was impressed with the RDX design and engineering; and test drove it this past afternoon. The route I chose was mix city and higway. IMO, the ride is indeed harsher than a sedan, but bare in mind that the RDX has a higher centre of gravity and requires a stiffer set-up to keep it planted on the road.

Besides the RDX was engineered more on the sports performance side and not for luxo-soft ride.

I guess it really depends on what you're used to. If you're coming from a lush luxo-sedan or similar, then you might find it a bit harsh.

My last two vehicles were sporty and had a stiff ride, so I find the RDX to soak up the bumps quite nicely without compromising handling. The best way to judge is to go out for a test run and see for yourself. I'd recommend Downtown Acura 'cause the roads around there (Front St, Eastern, etc) suck a$$.

Sadly, I'm still waiting for delivery of my RDX, but based on my test-drive experiences the RDX soaked up the bumps well without being overly jarring. It's still more of a sporty feel in that the body is nice and solid through the corners without any suspension float that some of the land yachts have.

From my limited experience with late model Accords, the RDX feels similar. Excellent steering response, great suspension... very Honda.

Not sure what else I can say... sorry. More to follow once I finally pick mine up!!

strangely, I find it to be much mroe firm when going very slowly (like approaching red lights). When going 40 or more (kph) feels like it is a bit firmer than a regular car, but when going like 10 to the red light really feels like being jolted around.

But absolutely love the car.
