RDX Base

I've visited the sign in thread but do you think I can get an RDX Base for around $30,000 without any accessories or tax? I want to take advantage of the lower financing and I don't care for the features in the 2008 model. I live in Connecticut.

Thanks. Did you have to contact various dealers? I made an offer to one dealer online for $30,000 but maybe i should have started higher...

Hi Adoba - I live in Connecticut too and bought an RDX in November. I emailed every dealer within 75 miles of me and got their best quote. I also checked with Inskip Acura in Rhode Island. They had a lot of RDX's in their inventory so they gave me the best deal at $30,600. I was able to use this to get a better deal locally. I ended up with the same price at Executive in North Haven plus a decent price for my trade-in. Check www.carbuyingtips.com for information on how to negoiate. It should give you a good idea of what to expect and how to come up with a fair price. Jay

Thanks, I actually went down to executive acura and they seemed friendly and the location was close to me too. I e-mailed them twice for a quote and I got no reply and it's been two weeks. I guess i'll just have to go in and talk to them.

If they are the closest, then I would go to other dealers first and try to get the best price from them. Then go to the dealer you want to buy from and show him your numbers. They will usually meet it. Don't let them weatr you down and watch for hidden fees. Remember this is your money and they want as much of it as possible. Executive was very nice but I made it clear that this was the price I was willing to pay. Good luck. Jay

Good deal?

Hello, I just got a quote from Acura by Executive in North Haven CT of $30,495 for a RDX Base, this does include destination. This sounds like a good deal, should I go for it?

Dear Adoba,

Congrats on getting a good offer! Wondering if the price is OTD? (includes not only destination but also all the other fees besides tax and license).

Yea it's actually almost $500 under invoice if you count destination. I'll definately ask if it's OTD, i wouldn't want to be stuck with hidden fees, like the "availability fee"

adoba - I'm sorry I did not get back to this board sooner, I kept forgetting about it when I went online. I told them that I would not pay the Documentation Fee. It is just another way to get more of your money. I am not sure if you bought already, but now that the end of the month is near, they will be looking to sell more vehicles and thus will be willing to negoiate more. Go back and tell them that you want the price to spend and leave it at that. Good luck, Jay
