RDX is an annoying nag designed for idiots.

You work at the dealership? And the oil change is free anyway? No wonder you jump on it the second it hits 15. But if you had to go out of your way to get to your dealer and actually had to schedule and plan your downtime, you might see it a different way.
So, what about my other points? Like the lights, etc.?
I have another quesiton for a delaer like person. But I'll take that to another topic. Follw me there, ok?

I think we can all agree that the electronics are a great feature but need a bit of refinement. The engineers need to focus on the way people use things a bit. Maybe we can find some one to offer a hack that resolves all of our gripes.

Sure you could go to zero I guess. But it's ok to change it at 15%. The manual even says it's ok. At my dealership, we do free oil changes on every car that we sell for as long as that customer owns the car. Once the cars show 15% or below, we will change it for free. They are actually changing my oil this very second. Seriously, it's on the lift right now. On my way to work today, it flashed 15% and my A1 service, so I brought it in and they're changing it. Pretty easy. I didn't get all worked up that it beeped at me.
If my car telling me it's time to perform service on it got me so worked up that I had to post online about how stupid it was, I might want to cut out some of the stress in my life. I'll take that "nag" any day of the week over alot of other cars out there that have check engine lights come on randomly.

Also when it reaches 15% it does not mean to immediately go in for an Oil change, it is telling you to that you have 15% left and it will be time to get an oil change soon. Let just say that you can get 500 miles more before it hits 5% oil life left and let say you get 5000 miles in between oil changes, you would save 1 oil change the first 50,000. Might seem like not much but I dont get my oil changes for free.

A good write up on the pros and cons of DRLs:

Personally I find DRL's a good idea in theory but generally poor in their implementation. I'd prefer a way to turn them off when desired and consider the lack of a switch in the RDX a drawback (albeit fairly insignificant).

My oil in Both the Acuras in my household(07 RDX Tech and 06 RL) get changed when the timer hits 0%, and that's not hurting anything. If I had free oil changes for life though, I would change my tune real quick.
Just did a little searching....your dealership actually charges a "nominal" fee for every car you sell(your words from another thread), so it's not really free is it?
A good deal, depending on where you are located in relation to where you bought the car...but NOT free.
