Problems after 1 Week

Just took my new 2007 tech package RDX into the dealer and check emissions light came on.

The service department has no idea what this means and just reset it. They said there was inadequate voltage to the engine circuits but didn't know what to do about it. They are keeping my new 38K car for 2 days for further tests.

I'll keep you all up to date on what happens and what service is required.

Anyone else had this problem yet?

Sure sounds like a loose gas cap to me.

Pardon me for not being in the know when it comes to cars, but what does that mean?

You've had the car for a week, did you fill gas recently? If so, it is possible that the gas cap is not tight. When the car starts, the car pressurizes the fuel tank a takes a reading to see if the pressure holds. If it does, no vapors are evaporating and destroying the ozone. If not, the car throws a malfunction light (usually "check engine") but maybe the new cars have a "emissions" light. Just my theory, take it with a grain of salt

Edit: It is possible that the gas cap is not the problem. The RL system now separates the "Looose Cap" from the other trouble codes. It is possible that the new RDX system is the same.

No, I don't think it's the gas cap. They told me the code # but it didn't mean anything to me 'cuz I didn't know they had a code system. Something about a bad sensor too....uugghh

if they have the code, they probably on the way to a fix and possibly waiting for parts. Probably something like an o2 sensor that "sniffs" the exhaust to make sure everythings working correctly.

You know maybe there is some type of CX-7 / RDX conspiracy. My perusal of the CX-7 boards shows alot of "check engine" issues, many coming up with codes showing a bad leak detection pump and/or emssion evaporation i.e,. a loose gas cap. Very strange.
