I have a 2011 with 113k, original AC compressor. I use the defrost/floor mix mode most often. I turn off the AC immediately every time, but the compressor still engages briefly. Just checking if there happens to be a way to stop the AC from auto engaging with defrost?

 

I it bothers you that much remove the ac relay

 

The A/C compressor turns on because it wants to remove the humidity...the senor is telling it to do it from the cabin
