OMG! Fun in Dallas!
OMG! Fun in Dallas!
Okay, I grew up in Chicago and lived in Minnesota for a while but since living in Dallas for the past ten or so years, I forgot how much fun it is to drive in snow! We picked up an inch of ice on the roads earlier in the week and then about 6 inches of snow last night. No big deal up north but down here it's chaos because they don't have snow plows or salt trucks. (Well, they actually brought a few in from the panhandle apparently but you wouldn't know it).
I was having a blast with my AWD RDX today! I'm sure I'd be sick of it if it went on for months though.

I wish it would snow in Southern California because my RDX has never seen snow! Last weekend, I visited big bear and the entire route, the long way hwy 38, did not have a speck of snow, but it was the best drive EVER! 1.5 hours of continuous hairpins going 50-60mph downhill. The RDX suspension was amazing...i didn't feel the car roll at all and thanks to the bucket seat I was glued to the car, though it was not the same for the rear passengers :p
Honestly, the drive home was more fun than snowboarding at Big Bear.....who woulda figure.

I'll trade you. We are getting a snow storm every week here in NY and I'm growing tired of it. I don't mind driving so much in it with the RDX, it's shoveling that is killing me. Next year, we will have a snow blower.
I don't understand the fetish folks here have with driving in the snow.
I am just glad to have the dependable awd to get out of the snow when needed.
And being able to get out the mountain ski resort the few times in the winter is a great bonus.
Even with my awd I am always weary of the road conditions and the other cars around me.
I live up on a mountain community out herein Vancouver bc. And when it does snow, it is not fun, because of the other cars on the road that is not ready for the snow. Freaks me out every time.
The awd is an aid in getting through the snow but not a guarantee against sliding in icy conditions. It does not make you above the laws of physics
