Post 2011 RDX AWD Tech Package price

Hey folks,

I have been reading up on here for a while and have ben on the site for years looking at various cars. However, i believe its time to upgrade to a decent vehicle that can handle the crazy snow we have been getting. I just priced out today a 2011 RDX with AWD and Tech. I just want to know if im getting a good deal, or if i have to haggle some more (mind you i was referred by a very good friend to the manager, who owes my friend a favor). i dont know the final number, which is a problem and im sorry. He said it was just under $40k after everything. This was for 12k miles a year for 3 years...My 2 options are as follows...

OPTION 1 -
$2200 down(that is taxes, title, fees, etc, plus first months payment)
With a lease of $470 a month.

OPTION 2 -
$4500 down (same as above)
With a lease of $399 a month.

How do these sound to you? Should i be able to get more out of him, or does this sound pretty good? It was from Rallye Acura in Roslyn, NY. The manager sat down and ran the pricing on the computer and said it was good till the 31st, but i could hold it till the end of February. My current lease is a BMW 335i so they gave me some $500 incentive for switching over. ANY opinions would be GREATLY appreciated. But my lease is up in May. I may try to give it back early if i dont take a hit, but otherwise i will be waiting until then.

Also, i have been reading that people have been having NO problems in the snow. However, we have been getting 18 inches at a time here in NY. Has anyone been getting stuck or having problems, or are they really that good in the snow?

THANK YOU EVERYONE IN ADVANCE! I look forward to getting in an RDX VERY soon!

What are the options on the RDX? Roof rack? 19" Wheels? Protection package? More over, what is the;
MSRP
Base Cap Cost
Cap Cost Reductions?
Residual Value
Money Factor/Rate
Term (3yrs?)
Sales Tax in NY

$470 a month sounds like a great price, but without more details it's hard to say.

The LEAST you could do is squeeze a set of wheels out of them.

AND Welcome to AZ

Hey, thanks for the response...The term would be 3 years...sales tax in NY is 8 something percent i believe. No roof rack, i dont want it. Id have to get the FULL details on the car, but i think it has the running boards and 18 inch wheels. I could get them down more i believe, but the manager was lowering numbers as i was there and the sales guy was looking at him like he was crazy. haha. Ill have to go in tomorrow and get the full numbers on the car, but i just wanted to get some opinons first...Hopefully what others are paying, etc..

We don't lease because we keep our cars for at least 8 years. For me and my shitty credit that car would be $650+tax (if I'm lucky and that last item finally dropped off my report). When we bought the RDX it was my wife good credit that helped us pay it off in less than 3 years with 1.9% apr ($1,000per mo). Not so with the TL as it was a AHMC demo from Torrance, CA and even thought it was never titled, used cars do not qualify for 1.9% apr. My money factor/rate would probably be around .0030 or over 7% apr(monthly finance fee).
Ask for some 19" wheels, if they baulk at you, tell them you pay cost if they show you the actual cost/price off the service mangers computer, not some number on a peice of paper.

Almost 100 views and no opinions?! I had better hopes than this!

Mr. Marco...Thank you. I am going to try and bring them down to $450 a month and see what they say. They are giving me a deal, but still had some room to work with. Hopefully they agree...Or ill work something else out.

I have no idea what's good as far as leasing goes. We need more info than you provided, too.

If it helps, I bought my 2011 SH-AWD Tech back in September for $36,105 before NY tax (which was 8.xx%). I have good credit, so I was able to get 0.9% financing for 3 years.

And yes, the RDX really is that good in the snow. I am amazed, to be honest. Nothing like my old TSX, which was still not great even with snow tires. I was testing the RDX this year with OEMs, hoping I wouldn't have to bother with snow tires, and it looks like I'll be just fine without them, as long as they don't deteriorate a lot with more use.

I see you are in NY. I am, too. I bought my RDX in Jersey, though, at the dealer I used to go to before I moved to NY last year.

reduce downpayment to 0 and increase your monthly. this is in case if you need to terminate your lease for lets say job loss reasons. I always reduce downpayment as much as i can. either-way they are both good deals. i shelled out a lot more than this back in 2007 when i bought the rdx, both of these offers are a steal.

We just bought my wife a 2011 Polished metal metallic RDX with AWD and technology package today. MSRP here in Northern California is $38,580 for this type of RDX. We paid $38,520 out the door. The dealer threw in acura care ($500 value) for free. It's basically free dealer oil changes, tire rotations and 20 point inspections for the next 4 years (5 "A" services and 4 "B" services). Price before tax, title, license etc was $34,194.00. Santa Clara County tax hammered us at 9.5%. We put $5000 down and financed the rest at 1.9% over 60 months. We won't be taking the full 60 months to pay if off.

Thanks for all the replies! It seems like everyone is just financing...I like the idea, but i can justify a $1000 a month payment. I do a lot of driving and get bored with vehicles. That, and i will be buying a house within the next year so i need to put money away and not have a ridiculous payment. The car is bone stock, no extra stuff. He said the dealer puts that stuff on if the customer wants. I think im going to try and talk him into atleast the running boards, wheels locks, and protection package(its the only ones i use). If he does them then ill probably pull the trigger. He said , or maybe ill try and get the bigger wheels . The total price so far is just under 40K. Now i have to decide on color...I used to like the whitewith black interior and blacked out windows but now im leaning towards all black. Decisions, decisions...

Black! I'm biased.

I feel you on the money thing...we just bought a house last year also. It's shocking how things add up, and never really stop!

Where did you get the interest rate? Through Acura, or somewhere else?

Through Acura. It's their current deal for "well qualified buyers" on the main acura website. Check out the current offers section, they're different for each car. You can also get 0.9% for 24-36 months.

Haha, well my fiancee wants white. I dont mind it, but im a black fan with all black windows. I wouldnt modify the car(and yes, ive said that before but this time i mean it) because its just a work car and maybe keeping it when the lease is up.

And yea, the house thing is going to be a PITA! All the people who bought houses they couldnt afford, and the stupid banks lent them money and now they are all incredibly difficult to try and get a mortgage.

This looks to be a great price! Using the american express buying program through zag.com, I'm being offered $35,196 for an AWD Tech (MSRP of $38,520). I generally like to use the zag quote as a baseline for a "good" price, and then see how much better can be done.

Leases are much more complicated than straight financing. You always want to negotiate the cost of the car first. Then worry about the details of the lease, if that's the way you want to go.

FYI, if you were to take Acura's 1.9% Financing for 60 months, on the total price chuanger mentions above ($38,520) with no downpayment, you'd be looking at $673.49/mo.

OP, are you by chance a member of Costco? If so, you have access to their car buying program, which can often be very good. If nothing else, the participating dealer must show you the Costco pricing sheet, which will list any factory incentives (that may not ordinarily be disclosed to the customer). You can then use this information at that dealer, or another one in the area. Zag is showing that there is a factory to dealer incentive on the RDX now, but doesn't show the $ amount.
