Older RDX Owners
Older RDX Owners
Hi Everyone!
I am new to the forum and I am considering an RDX w/Tech once my lease is over in a few months. I have not test driven the RDX as yet!
I am in my 50's (although age is just a number). I was wondering if there are any other 50ish RDX owners who are enjoying the ride? Thanks!

I'm 55 and have had my RDX for one month. So far so good. The ride is choppier than I'd like, but that could be partially due to the road conditions since I bought it. It's been rather cold here in Chicago and the frost heaves might be the cause. Gas mileage is improving and I can't wait until we have warm/dry roads to play on. I drove 9 cars before deciding on the RDX.
Audi A4 quatro
Saab 9.3 combi
Saturn Aura
Mitsubishi Outlander
VW Passat Wagon
Honda CRV

48 and also in the Chicago area. I love the RDX. It has been great here in the Chicago winters. And, as was previously stated, my mileage has shown a marked improvement at around 3000 miles.
The car has great utlity, handles extremely well, has a sound system that does Led Zepplin proud, and is extremely comfortable to ride in.

I've had mine for just about a month (2000 miles). I think I drove it twice picking it up from the dealer and then driving it back to the dealer to get the side moldings installed. My wife drives it the rest of the time. She loves the way it handles, says it drives a little firm but it doesn't bother her. The seats are very comftable and they don't bother my back. We are averaging 22 mpg hwy.
I'm in the 50ish crowd & I LOVE my RDX. It does great in snow, cornering, acceleration, ride. Has just the right amount of room, gets decent mpg, (NOT according to some!
) It is the best all around vehicle I've ever had! Go drive it! It's done it for several here on this forum.
Oh, & by the way, I'd list all my cars I've owned / leased, but they don't have an extra server hard drive to handle them all!

Hey I don't think that's in the older crowd. Just hitting the middle of your second prime. The first one being strength and stamina. This prime being wisdom and being around the block before it all becomes like Ronald Regan
.
I love my car, the only complaint like many others driver memory seats. The ride is it firm ... yes bad...no. Just look at the road ahead and avoid the pot holes and its no probelm - hit a pothole - you will fill it.

You are all "youngsters" compared to me. I'm 63 and have had my RDX-Tech since early December and love it! I have 4000 miles on it and the gas mileage is getting better all the time. I too miss the Memory Seats. The only problem I have is I can't keep it under 80!! I thought my 04' TL was quick and handled great, the RDX is quicker and handles better due to the AWD. The ride is a little rougher because I have the 19" Sparkle Wheels, the ride may be rougher but it sure looks good!! The chrome wheels look great with the Nighthawk Black color.
I am 60 and love it. It is the right size, power good enough for me, handles great, gas mileage is reasonable imo. Probably the only two that felt as good when I got them were the CL typeS and the RSX typeS.
I have almost 10,000 km's on it and enjoying it immensley. The ride is firm and as a result does show how crappy some of are roads are. On a good road rides like a charm which shows its the roads more than anything contributing to complaints about the ride.
Got new wheels Saturday to put on in a week or two when I feel winter is gone for good. Bought them Saturday and will take tires and tpms sensors in this weekend to get mounted on the new wheels.

Pushin 50 and I love mine. Stiff ride but the handling makes it worthwhile. Recommend you get the Tech package if you're gadget oriented.
Someone posted earlier they Acura was going to stop offering the Base package. Any truth to that?

Frankly, I think this thing is fun enough to satisfy both!
