OEM 19" wheels

Anyone get the wheel upgrade? Wondering what the cost is to upgrade rather than have 2 sets of wheels. Point of purchase upgrades are much easier to justify than after the fact!

I think I have heard anything from a $500-800 credit for the stock wheels/tires.

That sounds about right for a stock combo credit. Guess it depends how bad your winters get as to whether it is best to have 2 sets. You are not that far north of me (Louisville), but I know Ohio gets considerably more snow than we do.

I don't want to hijack this thread but is there any difference in ride quaility running the larger wheels?
Thanks!

Yes it is rougher. I have been told it makes a difference if you put better 19" tires on than the OEM options, but have yet to experience this.

I received an $800 credit for the 18" OEM and purchased the 19" sparkle.

Here are two threads from last Oct right before I purchased with details.

I haven't noticed it being any rougher, but then again I come from a Prelude and my only experience with the 18" tires was my test drive.

my dealer had quoted me about $3500 for the 19" rims (not the chrome ones) w/ tires and install, too much IMO

I think so too... if you check out the 19" wheels on tirerack, add on the tires, you probably touching around $1800.00 max. You just don't have the Acura wheel cap that's all.

Actually I beg to differ with you here. Acura OEM wheels are manufactured by Enkei. If you select 19" Enkei from TireRack, then you are looking at $400-$535 per wheel, plus add $200-$250 per tire for high performance tires, then add $235 for TPMS then add another $100 for shipping and you have spent $2735-$3475 from TireRack. I am not saying that you cannot get 19" cheaper, but if you compare apples to apples then you are in the same ballpark whichever option you choose.

If you break down the pricing of $3500 you will also see that the Dunlops are almost as expensive as the wheels. If you just buy the wheels and then have your tire place mount and balance and switch your TPMS you can do better. The 19" Sparkle Silver wheels from Acura are $455 each. The Dunlop tires for them are $394.70 each. You ought to be able to shave $500-$800 off the $3500 price by selecting less expensive tires.

The point is that it's rediculous to pay that much money for factory rims that are 19", my suggestion would be to save your money and get aftermarket 20" rims for even cheaper (hence why I simply added chrome stock 18" rims instead of the 19" rims and tires, just to much money IMO)
