November release of 2k8 RDX

The release time around for '08 RDX
is around thanksgiving.

Minor changes only towards:

Adding new colors.

well..that's pretty much it...that's all the information I was able to obtain from a couple of ACURA dealers in NYC.

Hope some of you others find out new or...old stuff.

I was at the dealer and he was mentioning that Acura has temporarily pulled Music Link (the iPod/Navi interface) because of user complaints regarding crappy integration. He said the '08 would have improved software to make use of the title/artist (ID3) information, and that '07 purchasers could get a software update for that functionality as well. Strictly rumour mill stuff, but it'd be really nice!

Well...technically they still have the Music link rite next to the buttons on the radio, But they don't specify anything. I mean, i figure, thuogh it's nice to input a mp3 player(ala ipod) into the car plug, but in the specifics, you can input a MP3 cd also and just make it slightly easire too?
but that's just my opinion.

In my few years on this Earth, it's my experience that dealer salesmen talk out their ass and are the last guys to know pertinent information about new releases, updates, etc...

Freaking guys will say anything...

Interesting...I've heard from several others (see the 2008 RDX thread) that the 2008 RDX would begin production in July and should also start arriving in dealers in July. Wonder who is right? I don't know that I would trust the sales person...but who knows, maybe our other sources are incorrect?

Wow, I will believe it when I see it. Free software update for something already sold by a car manufacturer? Unheard of unless there is a safety problem. However, MusicStink is the worth piece of accessory I have ever paid for.

Are you talking to these dealers just trying to find out when the 08's will be here or are you talking to them in the context of purchasing an RDX. I'm guessing it's purchasing and they are trying to push you into a remaining 07 model.

I have the info right in front of me in black and white. It's straight from the horse's mouth. I've even posted in another thread the exact color changes, including color names for the 08 RDX and TL.

Honda/Acura typically launches a full model change (fmc) in the spring/summer to keep the new model fresh for a longer time (ie. 2007 RDX was launched in summer 2006). But after that, the normal rollout of the new year's models typically occurs in October/November. They've been doing it this way for years and it would be hard to believe that they would change this policy now, especially when there are a ton of unsold 2007 RDXs on lots. Why would Acura want to shorten the time they have to sell those before the 2008 models arrive? Just doesn't make sense.

Hey White92 - so they're really getting rid of the Carbon Grey Pearl? I'm not doubting you but it sounds a bit weird since it's the #2 requested colour for the RDX....and my favourite by far. I was hoping to get a nice '08 CGP come January. Not a fan of the lighter shades of grey (i.e. Ford Edge/CX-7).

All is forgiven if Acura adds a Dark Cherry Pearl though like the MDX. Or a Monaco Blue like the X3.

#2 requested? I thought it was the most popular color. If it is the #2 color what is the #1 color?

If I remember right, from a previous post he said that carbon grey would disappear but would be replaced by a slghtly different dark gray.

Yes, Carbon Grey will be replaced with a color called Polished Metal Metallic. It looks like a cross between Carbon Grey and the old Anthracite color from the 06 TL. (Anthracite was my favorite color. I wish they still made it, especially on the TL-S) This new Polished Metal Metallic will also replace the Carbon Grey on the 08 TL. I know that Carbon Grey is also available on the RL and TSX, but I don't have any word on colors for those cars yet.

You have to remember though, that this is for U.S. cars. I have no idea if this will apply to Canada.

Well, the Anthracite looks nice also.
i wouldn't mind it.
I know for a fact it'll be hard to obtain any type of deal w/ the '08 coming out...
sigH*
what do you think?
Maybe a little haggaling, they can slash down(hoepfully)?
And do you think the price will be the same?
or slightly higher?

It should be pretty easy to get a deal on an 07 with the 08 coming out. It won't be distressed merchandise by any means, but it will be "last year's model".

Well, figuring the "SLIGHT" changes being made, I would love the "Anthracite" color.
Any news on internal ala Interior changes - ie - auto dim day/nite mirror being standard
or power seats on passanger side also?

If it's any indication, the latest update to the HDS (Honda Diag. System) that the dealers use to service vehicles has just received an update in mid May that adds coverage for the 2008 RDX as well as the TL and TSX. I think this falls right in line with a possible July release.

It is pretty easy to gets deals on 07 models right now, but expect supply (especially of popular colors) to drop considerably by the time the 08s come out. The disadvantage of buying last year's model, is that you have an extra year of depreciation built in and your resale value goes down (if you're planning to sell within a few years).

well, i guess it's more or less accountable on the fact - "I'll believe it when I see it" type of factor ( in terms of physical/actual release of july).
But I'm sure all of us will see results

I think I remember reading on a thread somewhere that CGP was #2 and either Black/White was #1. I could be mistaken.

You have to remember though, that this is for U.S. cars. I have no idea if this will apply to Canada.

Yeah, personally I wasn't a huge fan of anthracite. It looked great most of the time but seemed to have a greenish tinge in some lighting conditions.

I'm pretty sure Canadians get the same colours as the U.S. They just name them differently. CGP is called "Graphite" up here. If anything we might get fewer colours.

Yeah, they mix them up some. I still wish that we could have the Aspen White/Ebony MDX in the U.S. but we can't. I'd buy one tomorrow if I could get that color combination. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll do it in 08.

White or anyone else...
figures...do you realize any kinks via the '07 model
that you think they will adjust in the '08 models...

or hopefully fixed (i heard very lil issues w/ the '07 just only a certain "DISGUST" of not having power seat for the passanger...)
but...ehhh?
