No a/c. Possible ECU Issue?

Hello all! I have a 2007 RDX (130K) with an a/c issue. A couple of months ago, the a/c would work sporadically (and even stay on when the control was off!). Full disclosure that I was fiddling with the left fuse cluster under the dash when I sparked something. However, to bring you up to date, here is what's been done by me and three (yes, three) shops:

What I did:
  • Checked all the fuses under dash and all were good, and even replaced any dealing with HVAC.
  • Replaced the relays and associated fuses in the engine fuse box.
  • Replaced the center console HVAC controls
  • Replaced the passenger side HVAC control, module
  • Was able to get compressor started by jumping wire
My usual general repair shop:
  • Tested a/c and it was fully charged
  • Also checked those relays
  • Was able to get compressor to kick in by jumping it directly
  • Said it was an electrical issue
Acura Dealer
  • Kept for two days while testing
  • Said it needed a compressor (I did not get it as I and the first shop were able to get it started...which I also informed the dealer)
A/C and radiator specialist
  • Successfully jumped compressor and also confirmed a/c was fully charged
  • Said it was electrical and most likely the ECU (and that my little fusebox spark may have been the culprit)
So, now I am wondering about the likelihood of it being the ECU and whether to send it to a company (G7) that has a flat rate to repair your original one (and thus no additional programming). If the ECU sounds like a reasonable try, can anyone tell me where it is located?

Thoughts on any of this? Thanks!!!

I’ll add my 2 cents worth on this issue. Honda’s compressors from that era had an issue with the compressor clutch spacing. Their fix was removing clutch and replacing/ removing a spacer because the gap has become to wide to engage. I went thru this with wife’s 2010 CRV , same as ours 1st generation RDX .
I replaced compressor instead of fooling with Honda’s clutch kit . I think jumping compressor adds a bit more juice so it does kick in ..just a wag though . Me personally I don’t believe you have some electrical gremlin .
Can you tell if the compressor has been replaced ?

Same here on a 2010 Honda CRV. I took the one washer out, not expecting much, and it has been working for two years now. With a little washer mind you. Go Figure. Of course, I had to do this in Florida summer heat, so that was fun.....
