Some more annoyances...

Key lock & unlock buttons
Should be on top of each other instead of side by side. I usually need to look before pressing the correct one. Key is way too large as has been mentioned.
Cargo light is too dim
I replaced it with a #912 lamp and that seems to have done the trick. Don't know if heat would be an issue if it were used for extended periods.
Steering wheel buttons are not very ergonomic
Difficult to get button correct without looking because they run into each other and all have convex surfaces. The dim instrument lighting doesn't help this any.
Gas door could lock & unlock with other doors
This is probably a cost thing.
No footwell lights
The door puddle lights are not a substitute since they are so dim and can't help you when you drop something.
Nav menu colors
On an already dim screen using white lettering on a light blue background just isn't very legible. Neither is white text with light brown outline on a white background. Stylish, but not easily read.
Fortunately, there are many more critical things that I really DO like about the RDX.

The mention of steering wheel button lighting, are they normally very dim or is there any brightness adjustment? (or is something wrong with them)

Nope, they're just dim. I would have thought they would brighten up with the dash control, but they appear to be fixed.

My current nitpick is with the climate control. I can never get it to do what I want, and there's far too many buttons to push to override. I'd rather just have a good old fashioned manual slider and dial arrangement.

Tell you what, the RDX auto climate control is about 10X better than what I had in my Subaru. So far, all I have needed to do is tweak the temp between 69F and 75F depending on my mood and clothing. It's been the best auto climate control system I have had in a car thus far.

Listen the two most important things are as follows:

1- Memory for seats, mirrors, climate control, etc -- all linked to my key (#1 and #2)
2- Power passenger seat
3- A detuned 6 cyl motor that is available in the MDX and RL

My RL has lots of little gadgets, doo-dads, and lights while great are not needed. Perhaps what would be nice add-ons that are more likely to make it into the MDX are:

Rear climate control
Keyless entry

Again this car is in the mid-$30K range, whatever options are added cannot increase the overall cost, otherwise why not just buy an MDX?

Dump the non-tech model, and add a sport model.

Ugh. If you want that buy an '88 GMC Jimmy. That sounds horribly awful.

About replacing interior with LED bulbs - I ordered from this website

http://tec-toyz.com/purchase/packages.html

They custom-make interior packages for Acura. Don't know if they work for RDX though.

I can't remember the exact sequence to get there without the nav in front of me, but if you choose so that you are given the option to sort by distance to travel and select that it seems we get a much more accurate search.

Doesn't look like they have a package specific to the RDX. but here are some of the bulbs....

Front map lights: 168/194
Front door lights: 168/194
Rear dome light: 3175(I think the 3022's from tec toys will work)
Rear Cargo light: 168/194
Reverse lights: 7440

I've seen some good high power LED lights on various websites. Tec Toys sells some good basic LEDs from what I hear....

All Good nit-piks. I really only have 2:

- MEMORY SEATS. Honestly, its a de-facto feature of any luxury vehicle out there today. I'm just asking for the seat -- not the steering column or pedals. Acura screwed up on this one. Odds are it will be in 08 models.

- Better Passenger Seat. Does not have to be powered (but should be) but the ride in passenger seat can be jarring. Perhaps a little more padding or something.

Thats it. Many of the other nit-piks are just not an issue for me.

BTW: I like the fact the switchblade key is stupid big. Doubles as a self defense weapon (as it's larger than my swiss army I carry with me ;-)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can change the color selection. I seem to recall changing mine to white on a dark blue background right after I got the RDX.

So do the LEDs look a lot better for interior applications? Is the pure-white lighting more effective than the typical warm-white light of bulbs? I know they will run cooler and last indefinitely, which is a nice bonus.

IMO, they certainly look cooler and high tech BUT the usable light is less. I would estimate the color temp to be 6000k or higher. Where 4000k-5000k is ideal for usable visible light. For function and usability, I'd stick with the stock. For the cool high tech look, go with the LEDs. I am running all my interior lights on LEDs right now. I like the look, and it has enough visible light for my purposes.

When driving at night, I can't read the steering wheel buttons at all. Wish you could turn them up. They are too dim. I had to turn on the overhead light to see which buttons which. to set the cruise control. So much for safety. Every Acura I've ever had poor cabin lighting design. Especially with the black interior, if I'm driving down a dark road, I can't reach for anything without turning on the dome light. It should have courtesy lights in the foot area.
