New TPMS activation

So I just replaced my stock wheels with an aftermarket set. I decided to keep the original wheels for winter driving - therefore i didn't swap the tpms sensors over and just bought a new set.

Anyone have an idea about how to activate them or registering them to the car? I get the warning light on my dash.

Did you purchase another set of TPMS sensors for the aftermarket wheels?

I don't think there is a reset button or off button for TPMS. The Acura system should be smart enough to read the TPMS signal from each tire mounted on the vehicle and know its position. It should only take a few minutes or up to a few hours for the TPMS to register with the car. If you did not purchase a second set of TPMS sensors, you have to look at the warning lights until you put on your winter wheels.

I would purchase a second set of TPMS for the summer rims.

I purchased a brand new set of sensors for my rims. Looks like I found out the rdx registered the tpms sensor on it's own. -- I was a bit worried because my brother had done the same thing with his honda element and the sensor warning light has been on since. --

cool beans ill post photos of the new wheels tonight.

They should auto register with your vehicle. I purchased the OEM 19s and they were shipped with the TPMS pre-installed and the car detected them right away.

I sold mine for $300 for near bald tires. In retrospect, I probably could have gotten more. Oh well.

I kept my OEM rims for when I sell my RDX down the road. I have RonJon rims on right now and I can get more $$ if I sold them separately compared to selling them with the RDX. Plus, you never know when you might hit a big pot hole and jack up your aftermarket rims. I've done this twice in 20 years. I would keep them if you have the room.

I was debating in keeping them for the winter time. Good call-- on the way dropping of my new rims to be mounted my right rear tires hit a damn screw and it stuck. What are some patching options! F**k'n sucks.
