New to RDX

So this is my first Acura owned 6 Honda's. Love the car, 08 RDX sh-awd.
I've been trying to search for this info with no luck, I want some Acura OEM floor mats, but the only one I find on eBay is$190, but 2013 floor mats are $50. So would they fit or would it look retarded? Thanks for the help.

unless they are all weather mats; dont spend coin on floor mats...they are meant to get torn up and rip to shreds..as your heels dig in to the drivers side and they generally collect mud and grime.

as cheap as the 2nd generation floor mats are; why not? who cares if it looks retarded, it's just there to protect the carpet underneath

I purchased OEM floor mat back in 2010 when I got my 08 RDX used. They will last you forever, easy to clean, keeps your carpet clean, and no strange smells like other carpet mats. The only issue with OEM floor mats are they are not made for snow/ice weather. They will leak to the side if you have to deal with snow/slush/ice during winter. The only other choice is see if WeatherTech has floor mat.

OEM floor mats from Acura are pretty expensive. If you're dead set on them, maybe check your local junk yards to see if you can find a set in a wrecked car.

Thanks guys I think I'm just going to get the 2013 floor mats. They're tan and pretty clean for $50.

I doubt the 2013 mats will fit properly. I would personally get a nice set of all weather mats from Weathertech.

If I spent $189.90 on weathertech mats I could just get the OEM ones for $190...

Got my black F&R Weathertechs a few months ago from Jegs for $150 shipped. Ive had OEMs on my 3G TL and while they worked they offered no sidewall protection which matters in states with a legit winter.

Let us know if the 2013 mats actually fit properly. I doubt they will. That's why I would get weathertechs. Of course, if the interior carpet is already messed up, might not be worth it.

I need to take pictures of the car so I can post them and show you guys it was a really good deal. The interior is almost in perfect condition but the mats are just to keep the dust and leaves off the carpet so it's easier to clean. I love in Arizona so dust always sticks to my shoes.
I'll post pictures of what the rugs look like when I get them.

I'm also in AZ...I hit my mats with a really good vacuum every month or so. They're surprisingly durable, considering how thin they are. I went through OEM mats on my previous car every 40k miles because my heel wore a hole through it.

Outstanding taste! Exact same color combo for my 08 RDX.

My 2011 baby just turned 56k now. It is a unique car. Probably one of the first turbos in the SUV class if I recall correctly. She is a rough ride though, but the handling still feels top notch. If I can keep the turbo from engaging at 65 mph, she actually gets decent mpg of upwards of 27 at least. Above 70 though, turbo engages at a slight hill, so down goes the mpg. Enjoy the car for what it is and was. There are not too many left.

He don't know, I ran into another newer RDX today.
I was going to do the navigation swap but seems very intricate and expensive so I guess that's out.

OMG that project is not for the faint of heart!

Get a quality, in dash aftermarket, but it may interfere with oem dash constols as it's so integrated together.

I see lots of Gen1 RDXs in my region. Most appear to be in decent shape.

I guess the "not too many" comment may have stemmed from the fact they only made around 100k 1st Gen RDX, the youngest of which are around 7 years old now. They sold at least 3 times as many 2nd gen cars. 100k is certainly a decent number, but it's going to dwindle no matter how reliable the car is. Still, it'd be fun to know how many are still on the road today.

I was in San Antonio for a few weeks and I think I seen more 1st Gen RDXs compared to 2nd/3rd Gen RDXs. It also could be because I'm bias and really like the 1st Gen 100X more than the others. Very few 1st Gen RDXs still on the road in my home town of ABQ.

I'm already in love with this car and I want to do the front lip. I like the way it looks.

Wow! That bumper is in nice shape!

The front lip is pretty tough to find, but I hear it's worth the wait!

May I ask, how many miles, and what did you pay for it! It's super clean!

The car is overall in great shape just a couple things inside that need to be fixed but nothing major. I actually found a website that sells them I just have to paint it, they're $280. I have my old Mazda lip I'm trying to sell and I'll buy it with that money hahahahaha.
It had 102,920 miles or so and I paid $11,000 with $2k down at a 5.5% interest.

You can get the front under-spoiler from the Acura accessory parts website.

Also, it looks insanely clean for that much mileage.

The more I think about it I most likey won't keep the car long enough to make mods to it, it's a fun car and I'd like to see what it can do but I'm just going to sell it in two or 3 years. Hoping I don't put on an excessive amount of mileage, I don't know if I'll mod a car like my last one.

Why is that?

Because my last car I spent years collecting rare parts and hunting them down then I had to sell it for a family car. I don't think I can spend thousands into another car just to sell it too.
It's a nice car but I'm mostly disappointed in Acura that you can't easily swap over navigation or upgrade the system to accommodate me features like backup camera or Bluetooth for music etc.
The performance parts are there to put in but not extra luxury, to me if I put it 3k performance I should be able to put in work for luxury too. I'd like navigation, Bluetooth for more than just calls, also having to fix the handsfree link which isn't a guarantee fix.

Sell it for a 2010 tech. Believe me. A 1G RDX Base sucks the life out of the car.

I drove a Base about a year after we got our RDX Tech and is was so basic feeling.

Hmmm... If you want luxury, try out an MDX. They're like an RDX and an RL put together, if you know what I mean...
