n33d help guys, I'm a noobie, RDX

I've come to you for help my ACURA OWNERS.I've been looking into purchasing an RDX for quite some time.
The quirral i've had is to
purchase one now, or wait till the '08 model comes out.
Does anybody have any changes/release date the '08 model comes out?

I've obtained a really GREAT pricing for the current RDX w/ TECH PACK.

- Technology Package
- Carbon Grey Pearl
- Ebony/(or Taupe) Leather
- Auto Day/Night Mirror
- Sport Running Board
- Back-up Sensor
- Wheel Locks

For under(ala WAYYYYY under 38k) the Given price on the website (ala w/ tech pack) and all that stuff included under "BUILD YOUR CAR".

I'm guessing once the new one comes out, I won't be getting the same deal.
and I've noticed the LACK of:

-Power seat(s)
-Keyless Entry
-Auto-Dim mirror
-Auto-turn lights

As far as I'm concerned(hopefully those items will be input and fixed by '08)
I've seen the factor of saving money, but the basis of new(er) model might catch my eye.

Any suggestions?

there is already keyless entry, just not keyless trunk open
power driver seat, not pass and no memory seating
auto dim mirror is an accessory you pay extra for but is available

They "DO" have auto-dim mirror? damn...I would consider get that (hence the fact of people buying aftermarket HID lights to BLAST THE CRAP OUTTA ME)

Well, I thuoght there was a differentiation,
Some people say it's different, as for the hundreds of post i've read.

My cousin has the ACURA TL, and I love it. but for being tall, i need a bigger car.

The '08 posts are based on "ASSUMPTIONS" not facts of what's going to be implemented in the car?
Do you think I should wait for '08 or go for the '07.

I hope they do fix the power seat(memory seat), keyless8(whatever) lol, and etc.

its already end of may, cant hurt to give it another month to see if 08 is better bang for buck, plus, if it isnt, you can get your 07 brand new cheaper once 08 rolls out.

If money is a big factor for you, you can expect:
1. prices will probably go up in 2008
2. dealers will probably not be offering such great deals on the new models

Are the new features worth $2000 to you? If not, buy now and enjoy the car over the summer.

Its also worth mentioning that you SHOULD be getting a price way under the "build your car" price. You should be paying about invoice for the vehicle which is $34145 including destination. Is that about what deal you have on a 2007?

Personally, I think I'd wait till the 2008 comes out to make your decision. When the 08 comes out, they will be really pushing the 07s so you can probably get an even better than invoice price with out much trouble. And you can also see what the 08 has to offer and see if it is worth the extra money. I don't know if the 08 will be out in july though....

Just spoke to my dealer. They're done with the 07 build-out. Dealers will only get what's left in the pipeline. Acura will start 08 production as soon as July 1st. He had no info on changes or additions to the 08 RDX.

Yeah, you can sometimes get price breaks at the end of the model year (though sometimes not, depending on demand and mid-year price increases). On the other hand, last year's model comes with some instant depreciation and selection of popular colors and models may be spotty.

The pricing on my same 07 package was will under 35K. Get dealer pricing via the internet from several dealers. Then buy all your accessories online or on eBay and install yourself. Instructions to install accessories are on this web site, it not hard and will save you hundreds of dollars in labor charges.

Yeah, i got all them quotes..i know i can get lower @ the dealer...I just wana see what changes they make on the '08
if your ASIAN, then you know what the number "8" means...
so...i guess there's a lil bit of superstition.

I am not asian so I guees I only know the numerical significance of "8".
However, a couple of comments, I came from an 05 TL, and I would say the the interior room is about the same. The headroom may be higher, but I do not think so.

Also, It has been my experience that negotiating over the phone or via email is much better, although requires a bit more time than sitting in the same room with the salesperson. I do not know many people that do well when faced with the various tactics that they use in the dealership. Also, I think that they know that you are biased towards closing the deal quickly once you've arrived at the show room. And they use this fact against you.
The latetest is to quote the TVM price that edmunds has on their web site. That price is more than $1K over invoice. When they did that, we whipped the kelly blue book web price for my TL trade in at them. In the past couple of deals, they pretended that all internet research was false. I had an infinity dealer tell me that GM and Ford were manipulating the edmunds and kbb data.

Get the price down to the last dollar before you walk in to sign. If you trade something in, make an appointment to have the trade in evaluated while you take the car our for a test drive. Always tell them that you want to close the deal this week, or you will go back into a "just looking" phase. Beleive me, with gas nead $4, they need you more than you need them right now.

I concur with what you say lilfeat.
I just want to manage everything @ what's best.
I think I'm able to pull the RDX @ 34000-35000 tax included already - FLAT.
with all the utilities listed above.

Cause you know how it is, with first year cars....they want to get all the kinks from the first year car out, so they can produce a better 2nd.

But It seems like the RDX had very little kinks to begin with, and thats a plus.

I might be inticed to the fact of just going ahead and buying once, due to No changes in the '08 model. which might help me save 3k-5k. Saving money = plus

I just talked it over over the weekend with a dealer, and i've gotten a couple of responses, and it's really irking me.

1 - I was able to find one (but w/o running board) and offered me 34680

2 - I had a email/phone quote from the same dealer (diff. person) and got 35125 but w/ running board( and still negotiable) -but kept on showing me a picture of the RDX on his computer stating i'd be obtaining the 19inch rims (im really iffy bout this, he stated that the 19 should be default not 18..but clearly states 18 inch on site)

I figured number 2 would be a better option knowing its negotiable, and damn sure I want to get like the wheel locks/cargo net/all weather mats and/or splash guards. - see if I can get it @ 34000.

and is the side molding/ front underbody, back diffuser really necessary?
I mean..side molding..EHH..due to ignorant people opening doors and banging onto my car...but...I don't know...(and I definitely appreciate all the feedback everyon puts in...the HONDA/ACURA family gota stick together..haha)

The RDX comes with privacy glass on all the windows except the front windows.

Regarding other accessories, the tech package is very nice, but a lot of the other stuff is more for looks the function. The mud guards are useful if it rains a lot in your area, but you can buy these on EBay for about $60 and install them yourself in a few minutes. The cargo tray or cargo liner are useful for carrying around wet/muddy things like skis and ski boots, but again you can get better prices for these on EBay.

18s are definitely standard, and 19s are an option. A rather pricey option too from Acura.

It sounds like it is time to take your offers to another dealer and see what they can do to beat it. The longer you deal with them, the better your price will be.

Yeah, I'm pretty much going thru all dealers from jersey, conneticut, and around NYC.
So, we'll see right?

And honestly, say i purchase a car in jersey, but i live in nyc, do i specially have to bring it to that jersey dealer to do service, or can i do the service @ the NYC one (well the intial first one and the following ones in the future)

You can service at any acura dealer you want. Unless you purchased some kind of service plan from the dealer you purchased from. Those are typically non-transferrable. Plus many acura dealers will include at least the first servicing for free if you bought it from them.

The 2008 models aren't going to be any different than 2007 save for a color change or 2. If you want it now, buy it now. Dealers will go right back to MSRP on the new years models so don't expect any great deals on a 2008.
