My 2009 RDX (coming soon)

I really want to thank everyone on this forum. All of your comments and answers to questions, whether critical or praising have been invaluable.

I finally made a deal on a 2009 RDX Base. Dollar for dollar, after everything I've looked at and test driven, this is the vehicle for me. Yes, I am looking for value as well as quality. I have driven 4 different Acura's over the last 15 years, (as well as other brands) the latest being the '03 CLS which I am trading in and the common theme is that the Acura's (with little exception, ie new tranny in the CL) are a reliable ride.

(Also, knowing what people are paying in the "real world" helped too.)

Once I actually have this in hand, hopefully later this week, I will provide more detail.

bg905,

Good to hear you decided on the RDX and congratulations! I would also like to add to the thank you to everyone in this forum who have shared their information and experiences with their RDX to help others like myself make a more informed decision on a purchase. Your input is very helpful for those searching for information on this particular vehicle. This is what makes these type of forums so important is to have people contributing their info and experiences with the vehicle.

Hopefully gb905 will be able to add to the information collected in this forum in the future.

I am certain you will enjoy your new RDX for years to come.

Picking up this afternoon. Really excited, after 4 test drives (of the RDX, not counting a few on other vehicles) and 3 different dealer negotiations over almost a year I am finally getting this vehicle. It is time for the 2 door coupe to go. Between hockey for my kid and packages for shipping, getting in and out of a trunk and no back doors got tiresome. (Plus, it's way easier to get my in-laws in the back of an RDX than my wife's IS250.)

Got what I think was a great price on my '03 CLS for trade, along with the final price on RDX. (which is actually a year old CPO from the dealers loaner fleet)

Look forward to gleaning more info from this forum as time goes by.

What a ride home Wed. night. First, the torrential downpour at dealer made us wait 45 minutes to take plates of my old car so we wouldn't get drenched. Then 20 miles of thunderstorms with really heavy rain on 295 S. made me really happy about my choice of vehicle.

With it being a service loaner I had a surprise when I went to pair my phone. There were already 6 phones paired. Took a while, the system didn't like the way I said 'OK' when deleting.

Congrats bg905 on your RDX! I too have had four Acuras with my last being 2003 CL Type-S. I loved that car but it was time for a change after owning it for 5 1/2 years. My Acura history is:
1994 Integra GS-R (was such a fun car!!)
2002 RSX Type-S (It was OK but got bored with it after 20 months)
2003 CL Type-S (This was an AWESOME car!!! I miss it now and then)
2008 RDX (I really love it and is my favorite Acura to date)

Thank you. Your history is similar to mine as my first Acura was a 1994 Integra, though not a GS-R. Second was an '03 TL-S which I really liked, when lease was up I leased an '06 TSX. Boy I hated that car. The driver seat was not comfortable and after driving the TL the 4 cylinder engine sucked. (Just my opinion) So I took my loss and bought the CL-S CPO. I agree an awesome car, love the look from the rear WAY better than the TL. Time to move on after 3 1/2 years. It's just ironic that 2 of the 3 days I've owned the RDX it has rained torrentially. There were flooded spots today the CL may have drowned. Amazing what a couple inches of ground clearance can do!!!

Isn't it funny what having a child will do to our choice of cars? Best to you not only for the ride, for the son too. They grow up fast. Mine just turned 15 and the RDX will be way more convenient for our journeys also.
