MazdaSpeed3: 2.3L turbo
I know the luxury content won't be anything similar, but on the surface, the MazdaSpeed3 may be fairly similar to the RDX at a much lower price point. Similar engine. 5-door hatchback a little lower than the RDX, but roughly(?) the same size. FWD instead of SH-AWD means it'll be lighter.. so the fuel economy should be (much?) better.

Already available elsewhere in the world as the Mazda3 MPS, the MazdaSpeed3 has officially made its North American debut today in New York. The attraction of the MS3 is pretty straightforward: 250-hp from a 2.3L direct-inject turbo four-cylinder, the same six-speed standard shift used in the MazdaSpeed6 and a universally praised chassis that’s both stiff and light. Despite the fact that the MazdaSpeed3 is still front-wheel drive, we expect it to be a much more balanced package than what Dodge will be offering with its 300-hp Caliber SRT-4.

If you're going to compare the RDX to a Mazda, why not the CX-7?? It's an AWD SUV with nearly the same exterior dimensions.
