Maintenace question

We bought RDX 08, I was wondering what kind of maintenance needs to be done? I own Acura 2001 CLS, and all I ever did is change fluids and filters and rotate tires (soon will need a timing belt).
Is it pretty much the same kind of stuff for RDX? I know dealers are trying to sell package deals which include things like (check, inspect). Would it be OK to tell them only to replace fluids/filters that are necessary?

Your the one telling them to do it and your the one paying.
it's fine.
But if I were you, since it is a 2nd yr car, i'd follow the book so far.
or read the forums on here and ask around.
IF u f33l like that's all u need, then so be it.
good luck man.

The on-board maintenance reminder will recommend the type of maintenance. Most frequent (depending on your driving anywhere between 3500 to 6000 miles) is the oil and filter change.

Thanks, but do you really need to have dealer to "checks", such as "check tie-rods, examine drive belts". I don't think checks are really necessary.

I would think that would be your call, as NYjumpman suggests. I come from an airplane maintenance background and I tend to follow manufacturer's recommendations. You could do the checks yourself, too. Just be sure to reset the maintenance minder 'B' indication for checks/inspections so that it won't show until the next cycle.

Does manual tell you how to reset maintenance minder for OTHER than oil change services? Is it pretty much the same procedure as for reseting oil life?
