Locking doors with keyfob

My 2010 RDX doesn't lock the doors with the keyfob unless they are closed. Very annoying.

Is it possible to reprogram?

I know my 08' TL is the same way. Same if my trunk or hood are open. Haven't seen anything on reprogramming it

Same thing on my 06 TSX and RDX. I guess Acura figured "why would you want to lock your doors if they are open?"

I must be missing something. How can it lock your doors if they aren't closed and why would you want to?

You can always just hit the lock button on the door on the way out.

If you wish to lock the door while it is open, you must do so manually (or with the door lock/un-lock button inside the RDX). This is to prevent you from accidently locking the keys in the car. The new key-less entry/push-button start system fixes this issue by not locking the doors or the rear hatch when the remote is inside the cabin.

Since a few have asked. I'm used to hitting the keyfob on my other cars to lock the doors as I open them to leave the car.

I'm also a lot faster getting out of the car when the Mrs. is with me and I have to wait until she exits and shuts her door before locking.

My friends 2012 TL will allow him to lock them when they are open using the keyfob.

Interesting, I don't know that I had ever tried that on my ZDX mind you it was a 2010. Might try that on the ILX but normally I wait until my wife is out of the car. Did it give the acknowledgement that the alarm was set when he did that when the doors were open?
