Hybrids and Hemis -- Sharing the Love!
Hybrids and Hemis -- Sharing the Love!
Fun with carbon offsets......
Although the RDX is a compact tall wagon, the greater population sees us as SUV drivers; in some quarters regarded as distant relatives of Satan....(hypothetically of course, if they believed in religion to start with.)
Soooo.....at Carbon Fund.org you can offset your earth destroying sportabout by nullifying your CO2 emissions. Using their calculators; the RDX gets 21 mpg, and emits 6.34 tons of CO2, driving 15k miles/year.
For an annual payment of $34.85 you can render your RDX invisible to the environment. Carbon Fund will plant trees in Nicaragua, or recycle cow droppings into electricity. The latter is called "manure digestion" -- now, aren't you glad someone else is doing that for you?
Type in your Visa/MC to Carbon Fund and relax; the coming cataclysm is NOT YOUR FAULT.
For comparison purposes, the Prius hybrid is calculated at 55 mpg (yeah, right), emits 2.42 tons of CO2 and offsets for $13.31.
The Grand Cherokee Hemi SRT-8 gets 13 mpg and emits 10.32 tons CO2, but you can fix that for $56.29. So for a difference of $42.98 per year (12 cents/day) your fire-breathing Jeep dragster is the moral equivalent of a Prius -- superior actually, if the Prius is not offset!
When that snotty Prius driver is choking in your SRT-8 emissions, make sure he sees your
sticker to wipe that sneer right off his face. Maybe he'll wave to you -- hybrids and hemis -- sharing the love!
p.s. My wife's RDX gets essential health-caregivers to work and brings groceries in heavy snow. Strange.....there's no offset for that?

I actually think that is a great way to advertise. Especially with Honda's new environmental approach into market. Imagine "All our cars are carbon neutral, for every car purchased, we donate (some amount of dollars) to 'save' the planet"
Stopping the Love
I hereby offer myself as the ultimate carbon offset challenge. For every $1,000 I receive, I promise not to impregnate a nubile young lass and thereby not only offset a mere carbon 'footprint', but an entire lifetime of carbon excess. Not to mention the geometric progression of babies begetting babies. Just think about it. I may be old, but I'm virile and potent. Do yourself and Mother Gaia a favor. Contribute to Bleu's Baby Offset Fund. Then go out and boot that Hemi guilt-free.
Certificates, suitable for framing, will be issued. No wait-but-there's-more offer here. I'm giving up enough.
