How to replace door's arm rest

The door handle leather (arm rest area only) is showing signs of wear, I'd like to replace it. What is involved? Does door need to be taken apart? the part is only $36

See this thread. When the panel is off, you can remove the armrest trim (plastic rivets I think) and replace it.

thanks. Do you think for that I will need to detach inner latch release you mention:

When the door panel is free, hold it a few inches away from the door and use needle-nose pliers to release the 4 spring clips holding the inner latch release to the panel. Gently let the latch and cables hang free.

You can take a better look when you get the panel off, but I think probably yes, so you can handle the panel better. The latch cable is very short.

Just did it, took about 30-40min, it was pretty easy. I saved $150, this is what dealer wanted for labor, unbelievable.
