Gidday - very happy my 12 non-tech, Thule XTR hitch rack going very well. Great mileage and plenty of "wheeeeee" still. As fall approaches looking at putting my Thule 1800 Evolution box on the roof (according to Thule the Atlantis 1800 will fit without fouling trunk). So... next challenge is height clearance to 7" roller door.

Anyone running a Thule Traverse base (squared, not aero) rack? If so how much height does it add?

I don't know the answer to your specific question. I have a Thule Atlantis? 1600 and the weight is negligible, the issue is aero drag. What I would recommend is not to go larger than the 1600, assuming that the number indicates the capacity since, since that was already pushing the limit for the crossbars....at least that's my experience.
